While writing about my projects in more detail, here is a short summary of my work at Apollo Travel Group.
Product designer, Product owners, Developers, Head of e-com & stakeholders from various parts of the organisation.
In a design team of two product designers, I had significant responsibility for the digital experience across various parts of the customer journey on Apollo's website and app during my 4-year assignment. I was responsible for the following:
- Lead designer for "search and book a trip"
- Designer for Last Minute Travels and product listings on campaign pages
- Supporting designer for "My Booking"
- Designer for a new logged-in experience on Apollo's website
- Shared ownership of the Design System
- Supporting designer for an external product team developing a shared travel app for travel companies under the DER Touristik group
Methods used to accomplish these tasks included:
- Opportunity-solution trees
- Customer interviews
- Moderated and unmoderated usability tests
- Survey research
- Competitor analysis
- A/B testing
- GA4 analytics
- Accessibility adaptations in accordance with WCAG
- Customer-centric workshops
- Prototyping
Through a customer-centered and data-driven approach, my work contributed to increased conversion rates (up to +93%), increased click-rates (up to + 370%), and high customer satisfaction. The same year the new booking flow was launched, Apollo broke many records, such as the largest market share in Sweden's history, more sales than ever before, and a new record for the number of bookings in a single day (+50%).
In addition to these positive results, the work on the design system and a well-developed visual design contributed to more efficient design & development for ongoing and new projects, enabling a high delivery rate and a consistent experience across the website and app.
The design of the travel booking flow and product listings has enabled Apollo to reuse these components across various products and requirements across the site and app, such as in booking flows of various products and product listings of campaigns and other landing pages.
